The Sonshine Ministry of Olivet Baptist Church maintains a point of connectivity between the church and our members who are sick and/or shut-in.  The primary responsibility of the Sonshine Ministry is to catalog an ongoing record of our sick and shut-in.  This record will serve as the official list of the church for purposes of prayer, visitation and correspondence.

The mission of the Sonshine Ministry is to express lovingkindness to our members who are frequently absent or no longer able to worship at church due to illness, health or circumstances.

The Sonshine Ministry desires members who:

  • Care about the sick and shut-in.
  • Understand the value of maintaining contact with our elderly members who have given a lifetime of service to Olivet.
  • Have a pleasant demeanor.
  • Love the Lord.
  • Can serve independently to help pass out sick and shut-in slips.
  • Possess a “Son-ny” disposition.
